Fashion in the genres of music

Now let us take a look at the dress code for some of the genres of music.. Not just for the red carpet because for the red carpet and for an award show, you have to look your best.

This is Hip-Hop clothing. This is considered very trendy, and "hip"(cool). Baggy jeans or track pants, a cap, sneakers, or stilletos..

This genre of music has taken over in so many ways, and it is evident that the clothing will have much influence as well.

Going back in time

Let us take a look at what people wore back then...

Dresses like these were worn in the 1950's, and today, they are very pretty summer dresses.

This is what was worn in the 70's, and guess what? You can see some of these outfits on the runway today. :-) Who would have thought?

Who do you think wore it best?

Vanessa Hudgens or Keke Palmer?

The two lovlies, singer Amerie, and actress Meagan Good

What do you think sells more today? talent or image? in the MUSIC industry, your music should sell more, but it seems like the image sells more. ( again.. this is just my opinion). A song doesnt even have to make sense for it to become an instant hit. it can even contradict itself... but no one really cares anymore, as long as it is danceable, and the artist makes money.

Disasters on the red carpet!

Here are some more no no's....

ok.. back to fashion :-) you guys are aware of all the creative designers that are out there. Their clothes are also veeery expensive. we have labels like Armani, Gucci, Mark Jacob, Valentino, and the list goes on and on. when you see celebrities wearing these brands, dont you wish that you were loaded?? lol! i sure do.

seeing that musicians/recording artits can afford these brands, why do you get people who wear MEAT to an award show? Lady Gaga is just sick! i know as a recording artist in the industry today, you are suppost to have an image, because it seems like your image helps your music sell.( this is just my opinion by the way). where has the real talent gone?????(sad) oh well

Artists like Beyonce Knowles, Alicia Keys, Usher, Jayz and Diddy are examples to follow when it comes to dress code. No wonder some of them are voted best dressed artists. :-)

the new decade

Today, we listen to only ONE kind of music... POP. I mean, there are other elements of other genres, but it all sounds the same. Artists do not know what to do anymore. You have rappers singing, and singers rapping.. REALLY?! I feel that they no longer do it for the love of the art, but they do it just to make money. Just another gimmick.

Why do you guys think some people dress the way they do? Some dress according to the mood, weather, even according to a hairstyle! Designers have come up with pretty impressive outfits over the years. Fashion is somewhat a cycle. The clothes worn back then are back today, except that now they are more trendy :-)

Today we live in a world where almost anything is possible. No one sticks to just what they know. By that i mean can venture into anything and everything. Musicians have clothing lines, they are models etc. I am a big fan of fashion and music, and today, musicians and fashion are very much linked together.

Think about how things have changed, both musically and fashionably. with fashion its different because some of the things that were worn back in the day are coming back... here are a few examples
